I had the pleasure of staying at Bergwelt luxury hotel in Grindelwald, Switzerland, and I must say it was an experience like no other. Bergwelt Grindelwald | Alpine Design Resort is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and offers a plethora of amenities and stunning mountain views.
HOW TO GET TO GRINDELWALD
You can explore different transportation options to reach Grindelwald. If you’re traveling from major European cities, the efficient and extensive train network is a popular choice. For those arriving by air, flying into Zurich, Geneva, or Bern airports and then taking a train or driving provides a seamless connection to Grindelwald. Alternatively, driving offers the flexibility to explore at your own pace. Grindelwald is easily accessible by car, with well-maintained roads winding through the picturesque landscapes.
We were already a few days in Milan, Italy, so we decided to travel to the enchanting alpine village of Grindelwald in Switzerland by train. We started our trip at Milan Central Station, where we took a train to Interlaken, a nearby Swiss town, after a quick train change at Spiez. The journey takes approximately three hours, offering breathtaking views of the Swiss countryside along the way. From Interlaken, we transitioned to a connecting train heading to Grindelwald, which is a short and awe-inspiring ride. The final leg of the trip is a visual feast, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps. Arriving at Grindelwald’s train station, you’ll find yourself immersed in the heart of this charming mountain retreat, ready to embrace the luxury and natural beauty that await. By the time we arrived thick snow started falling, making the whole scenery a true winter wonderland!

The luxurious Alpine resort is conveniently located close to the Grindelwald train station. By the moment we entered the Bergwelt Grindelwald‘s lobby we were truly impressed by it’s harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and alpine coziness, which created a welcoming and stylish ambiance. The use of warm, earthy tones and natural materials enhances the cozy atmosphere, inviting guests to unwind and relax. The modern furnishings and clean lines added a touch of sophistication. The Bergwelt Grindelwald‘s lobby serves as a captivating introduction to the overall atmosphere of the Alpine Resort, where luxury meets the authentic charm of the Swiss Alps.
LUXURY ROOM WITH EIGER VIEW at BERGWELT GRINDELWALD
Our stay at Bergwelt Grindelwald was enhanced by the beautifully designed Luxury Room with Eiger View, where modern aesthetics blended with cozy comfort. The thoughtful combination of luxurious design elements and plush furnishings created a space that was not only visually pleasing but also served as the perfect retreat to unwind after our adventures in the Swiss Alps. The room’s impeccable cleanliness made us feel like home, allowing us to fully enjoy the serenity of our mountain retreat.
From the elegant design to the comfort it offered, the room at Bergwelt Grindelwald surpassed expectations.
IN-ROOM BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW
One of the highlights of our stay at Bergwelt Grindelwald was the morning ritual of in-room breakfast. The experience was magnified by the breathtaking snowy mountain view that greeted us from the privacy of our balcony. The view was truly breathtaking, with the majestic Eiger mountain dominating the landscape. As we savored the delicious offerings, from freshly baked pastries to steaming hot coffee, even a glass of champagne, the snowy mountain views outside the window became a captivating spectacle, transforming the morning meal into a sensory journey that encapsulated the essence of the Swiss Alps.
What elevated this experience even further was the excellent service provided by the resort’s staff. The room service at Bergwelt Grindelwald was nothing short of top-notch, ensuring that every detail was meticulously taken care of. The privilege of enjoying a delectable breakfast served in the comfort of our room was an added luxury.
“FIRE & ICE” SPA
The hotel’s spa was another highlight – the heated outdoor pool (as well as the indoor one) and sauna provided the perfect way to relax and unwind. The staff were always friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfect.
BREAKFAST BUFFET
The second morning we visited the breakfast buffet which was incredibly diverse, offering a wide range of options to suit any taste. I particularly enjoyed the freshly baked bread and pastries, which were a real treat.
DINNER AT BG’s GRILL RESTAURANT
The dinners we had at the hotel’s restaurant were also exquisite, with a menu that showcased the best of casual Alpine soul food. We had their tasting menu at the time and everything was delicious!
LOCATION
Finally, the location of the hotel was exceptional. It was just a stone’s throw away from the gondola station to Grindelwald First, making it easy to access the slopes and explore the surrounding area. Moreover as a visitor of Bergwelt Grindelwald you get access to the “Digital Guest Card” throughout your stay, which gives you free access to the village’s bus lines, as well as discounts in many attractions. No wonder, I would highly recommend Bergwelt Grindelwald as a hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience in the Swiss Alps.
